Spokane is the second largest city in Washington State and the largest city in a region known as “The Inland Northwest”, an 80,000 square-mile area spanning eastern Washington, the Idaho Panhandle, western Montana and portions of two Canadian Provinces. Over 1.5 million people reside in the Inland Northwest with the Spokane area being the primary economic, service, retail and cultural area in the region. Spokane is the medical hub for the 1.5 million people in its service area of the Inland Northwest and boasts two medical schools, 5 major hospitals and a large medical provider network. Shriner’s Hospital and the V.A. also have facilities here.
